● OVERVIEW ● The London Tube application is a superb professionally drawn map and route planner for the TFL London Underground system with many unique features. The inbuilt map provides a simple and colourful view of the city underground services with the ability to view an online street map when an internet connection is available. This way the user can view the street map feature when above ground and the transport map and route planning is still fully functional underground or anywhere there is no internet connectivity. This provides the best of both worlds, the transport map and route planning anytime, anywhere and online street maps and search when a connection is available.

● ROUTING ● Does not require an internet connection and will always be available to display a clear and detailed view of the city transport system, plus list and animate the optimum route for your journey. Provides the fastest route calculations of any mobile routing application (virtually instantaneous) using actual published journey times with the ability to select the quickest route or the route with the least changes.
Comprehensive details of your planned route are provided, including changes, directions of travel, number of stops, predicted journey times, etc. Uniquely this application gives you “direction”, “towards” and “service frequency” information (not available on any other offline journey planner) for example “Take the Northern line (Southbound) towards Stockwell for 10 mins (6 stops). Service runs every 7 minutes” which is essential when finding the correct platform and connection. Also given are alternatives for each leg of the journey.

● NO INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED ● The map and routing do not require an internet connection and you will not be charged data connection fees. This also means the application runs perfectly underground, on an aeroplane, etc. For international visitors to a city who have data roaming turned off this is an ideal solution.

● LIVE INFO ● When an internet connection is available, optional "Live Information" on the current state of the transport services and real time station departure boards can be viewed allowing you to plan your journeys in advance and avoid any potential delays.

● MORE MAPS ● This map is one in a series of Zuti worldwide city maps, if you like this product you may also enjoy some of our other offerings, please visit www.zuti.co.uk for further information.

Pros and cons of London Tube - Map and Route Planner by Zuti app for iPhone and iPad

London Tube - Map and Route Planner by Zuti app good for

Shows above ground map and the metro offline with GPS integration. And it gives tube status updates such as which line is experiencing painful delays today. Great app. I just bought one of theirs for another city as well
This was so worth buying, even though i probably wont use it again for some time. It was a lifesaver when I was on my own and using the Underground.
I found this app useful on a trip to London, although I probably could have managed using the official map. (A New Yorker can figure out any well signposted rapid transit system.) Although I found this apps geographic map helpful in correlating the tube lines to surface features, offering the ability to shift between the geographic and geometric map layouts in one app instead of two would make the app more useful. The Northern Line platforms at Tottenham Court Road station had been closed for several months while I was in London, making it impossible to transfer between the Northern and Central Lines. ( The closure ended in November 2011 The app, however, was never updated to reflect this months-long closure, making it unreliable in planning trips that required transfers. The developer should have been updated the app when the closure began and again when the closure ends. (The app did show that the Blackfrairs station was closed. It is scheduled to reopen in late 2011, and the app will need to be updated when Blackfriars reopens.) Step-free access should be noted, e.g., with an asterisk or small wheelchair image, not only for the disabled but also for people with wheeled luggage.
This is a great app for getting around London. The standard TfL map shows the routes, but not in any relationship to the streets (or really to each other). I much prefer this view, where stations are shown on a street map. Even on an older iPhone 3G (non-S), the application displays and runs well, including the route planning functions.
As an infrequent visitor to London, I found this guide to be invaluable resource for getting around. Has all the info I needed to get to museums and the airport. Did not use any other maps for my visit. Highly recommended.
This app was indispensable on my recent trip to London. For a beginner, the underground can be pretty confusing, and this gave me complete step-by-step instructions for the route I entered. Because there are more options than just the line name and direction, this was really great to have as I worked my way around. All that said, I have one criticism and one suggestion. The criticism is that the interface is a bit awkward. Once I choose a station for the beginning or end of the journey, it should just lock that in and take me back to the route page. Instead, it makes me back my way out of the page where I choose a station and so feels like I am undoing my choice. It also adds lots of extra taps to the process. That cost it one star in my rating, but thats my only real criticism. My suggestion is this. While Londoners probably know what station is where, tourists do not. We just know that we want to go to the Tower of London or to Buckingham Palace or whatever. If one of the zillion tube apps would add a database of the 200 most common attractions, and would let you say thats where you want to go, and have this take you to the nearest tube station, that app would completely set itself apart. As it is, I still had to carry a tourist map in order to know what stations I needed. All in all, I highly recommend this app.

Some bad moments

Previous versions showed a map of the city (London in this case) and superimposed the tube map on it. This means that you could see how far the stops were from each other and understand the relationship between the stops and the real world. The GPS was able to show you were you were on the surface roadmap, so you could decide if you wanted to walk a block to a different stop, or simply see where you were. The new version is useless. It no longer has a real map, only a schematic of the tube stops. Thats probably fine for someone who knows London, but for visitors, the new format of the app is a very big setp backwards. I no longer recommed this app (or the others in the series) to others.
It used to be good developer. Now they are cheating us. They introduce newer version if app for both devices and what us to pay again for it!!! Dont recommend apps fron Zuti!!!
